A Nanaimo-based researcher believes cannabis could help reduce opioid overdoses and help people overcome addiction. Philippe Lucas, who works for medical-marijuana producer Tilray, published an academic paper in the Harm Reduction Journal that explores cannabis as a substitute for opioids.
