Denver has been facing a mass amount of pesticide recalls due to lack of regulations, and one of the most recent recalls has affected the concentrates produced by a local Denver company.
According to KUSA, Avicenna Products decided to recall their concentrates due to the fact that they possibly contain residues from harmful pesticides. They recalled 80,597 packages of concentrates total, and the recall affected a variety of packages, from wax and shatter to pen cartridges and cannabutter.
The products were recalled because they were shown to contain traces of residue from Myclobutanil, Imidacloprid, Spiromesifin, and Etoxazole. The Colorado Department of Agriculture has outlawed these particular products, so Avicenna is abiding by local law and making sure to take these products off the market.
Even more frustrating, the products were distributed all over the state when the recall happened, since Avicenna services stores outside of the Denver area. Anyone with a product containing the MIP license number of 404-00472 should be advised that their product was recalled, and should not ingest.
One of their products from that run, titled The Health Center’s White Girl Terp Sap batch #00085, was excluded from recall because no levels of pesticide were detected when the product was tested.
So far, no one has been made ill from the products of this recall, and in fact, the effects of consuming pesticide-infused products are not even known, as cannabis is still Schedule One, and more testing needs to be done. While it is admirable that all of these manufacturers are honest enough to recall their products when they believe they are tainted, hopefully cannabis will be re-scheduled soon so the effects of pesticides can be more closely tested.
If you believe you have tainted product that needs to be returned, you can reach Avicenna at 720-403-8168 or [email protected].
