New York’s State Department is making it easier for doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to register and certify patients for the use of medical marijuana. The reason for this is the growing demand, and need of medical marijuana in the state of New York.
With these new changes, it will be effective immediately that patients will be able to be certified and receiving their medical cannabis within the same day of being registered by their doctor.
Courses have been added by the Health Department on the use of medical marijuana for all those who want to participate in the state program.
New York’s medical marijuana program has more than 22,000 patients and it is only growing. Ever since late March, chronic pain has been added as a condition that will qualify patients for medical marijuana. It is only to be expected that the number of patients will continue to rise as well as the number of nurse practitioners, doctors, and physician assistants who participate in the state program.
