Whenever I evaluate which marijuana recipes to make for friends and family, I always consider the tolerance level of the people that will be receiving my edibles. If the person has a really high tolerance level to cannabis, like with the case of my uncle, I make them frosting. That is because frosting contains so much butter. The more cannabutter I can fit into an edible, the stronger it will be.
Anyone that has ever made frosting knows that frosting is almost entirely butter (which is why it tastes so good!), with a bit of sugar and ingredients for flavor. Chocolate frosting is my personal favorite. I like frosting as an edible because it is so versatile. People can add it to any treat to make it that much better. Frosting can be added to cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and can even be eaten by itself one spoonful at a time if that is your style (confession – I do this).
With it being Christmas Eve, I thought I would share the recipe that I use to make chocolate frosting. It was given to me by a friend about 5 years ago, and it has worked very well over the years. My friends and family that have tried the frosting that I make will attest that it is very strong, so be careful when eating it and/or giving it to others!
Ingredients
1 cup of softened cannabutter
3 tablespoons of milk
5 cups of powdered sugar
1/2 cup of sifted cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Steps
1. Whip the cannabutter and sifted cocoa powder together in a large bowl until the mixture is smooth.
2. Stir in the vanilla and powdered sugar until it’s all mixed very well.
3. Slowly combine the milk and the mixture until the frosting is smooth, fluffy, and is a consistency that makes it easy to spread.
4. Store in the refrigerator in a container with an air-tight lid.
*If the consistency is not like you are used to and/or if you want to reduce the potency, mix in a few tablespoons of store-bought chocolate frosting.
